Drinking detox tea is a natural and hassle-free method to maintain and even enhance your health. When included in a detoxification program, drinking the appropriate natural detox tea may assist in the cleansing of your body, the strengthening of your immune system, and the promotion of natural weight reduction.
There are many "detox teas" out there on the market and there is much research on the health benefits or the lack there of, I say why buy expensive teas when you can make your "DIY" naturally organic tea for biohacking. I listed five of my go-to morning brews.
Tea – 1: Lemon and Ginger Tea
Lemon juice aides in cleaning the system with its rich source of vitamin C and flavonoids along with antioxidant and anticancer properties. Ginger has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help to clear skin and digestive problems along with motion sickness. This lemon – ginger tea will detoxify the body in the form of healthy sweating. Green tea has antioxidants that remove free radicals attacks in the body.
Pour hot water over your green tea bag, add 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon or juice + 1/2 of fresh ginger sliced + 2 tbsps of honey for taste, stir and drink.
Tea – 2: Lemon and Cayenne Tea
This tea is a simple morning Detox tea that you can drink regularly in the morning on an empty stomach. Lemon has vitamin C that builds collagen, boost the digestion, metabolism to burn calories. Cayenne pepper warms the body and amp up the metabolism.
This tea hydrates the skin and makes it less prone to wrinkles (or other skin problems) and flush out the toxins.
Pour hot water over your green tea bag, add 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon or juice + a pinch or more of cayenne + 2 tbspn of honey for taste, stir and drink.
Tea – 3: Turmeric Tea
This tea is termed as cleansing tea, as turmeric offers cardio-protection, cleanses liver, lowers bad cholesterol, fights against certain types of cancer, enhance proper functioning of skin and digestive system, strengthen your immunity, etc. with its antiseptic, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Fill 1/2 part of the mug with boiling water and add 1/4 teaspoon each of turmeric and ginger powder in it. Cover it and let it brew for about 5 – 10 minutes. Then add 1 tablespoon of raw honey, 1/4 cup of coconut milk and a pinch of pepper in it.
Tea – 4: Apple Cider Vinegar Tea
This sweet, tart and detoxifying tea will refresh and give you amazing benefits. Apple cider vinegar is packed with full of benefits such as weight loss, controls blood sugar, boosts up energy, strengthens immunity and metabolism, proper digestion, acne, etc.
Cayenne pepper boosts up the immunity and lemon juice cleansing the impurities in the system. Cinnamon act as an anti-inflammatory. This one will surely wake you up!
Pour hot water over your green tea bag, add 2 tablespoons each of apple cider vinegar and fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of raw honey, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and a dash of cayenne, stir and drink.
Tea – 5: Cinnamon Tea
This is a weight loss tea, cinnamon helps to stabilize the blood sugar levels and raises metabolism of glucose, or else high blood sugar levels will result in increased storage of fat.
Cinnamon prevents this problem. Honey boost and speed up the metabolism to burn body fat.
Pour hot water over your green tea bag, add 1 stick of cinnamon and brew for 5 minutes and remove the stick; Now add a juice of 1/2 a lemon and pinch of cayenne and honey in it.
Drink Your Tea
Begin by selecting an organic green tea bag or loose leaf tea, this is your base. Then and your preferred ingredient.
Select your favorite tea mixture and drink, stir well and drink it in the morning to get detoxification of your internal digestive system and to enjoy other health and skin benefits. There should be at least a 30 minute gap between your tea and breakfast. Drink it daily for best and effective results.
Do regular exercises, practice mindful movement like yoga to relieve stress, consume a healthy diet, take proper skin and health care and get meaningful rest.
